The drive from Salmon, Idaho, to Billings, Montana, yesterday, then from Billings to Dickinson, North Dakota, today, was a beautiful one.
I enjoyed again the drive through the Salmon River Valley, with all the golden aspens. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed the drive through Montana. 
And the western part of North Dakota has the impressive badlands.
They were especially pretty, with the fall colors.
